Newco is hiring 400 new employees to open two new offices.

Newco is hiring 400 new employees to open two new offices.  The new hires are concerned that they are going to work only 35 hours weekly - which prevents them from being included in the company’s benefit package.

  1. If the organization maintains this philosophy, what is the long term influence on turnover?
  2. How will this influence morale of those employees who remain as employees?
  3. To what extent would such an approach likely to result in increased profits?

This discussion board is designed for you to respond to the above question/topic by Thursday of the 1st week of the module.  To receive a passing grade each post should be a minimum of 200 words in length, demonstrating thought and integration of key concepts.  Your response should be supported with relevant background sources, which must be properly cited & referenced.  During the second week you should respond to at least one other student with a post of similar length and quality as your initial post.
