1) If you have one spot at the origin after developing a solute can you make the assumption that it is a pure substance? Explain.

2)If you run 3 spots on a TLC plate 50:50 hexane: diethyl ether solvent mobile phase and the Rfs of the 3 spots are 0.23, 0.25, and 0.21. What further steps could you take to verify that the 3 substances are different compounds and not just a single compound with slightly varying results? Be sure to discuss structures of the two solvents in terms of their intermolecular forces.
