Maxim Inc., a trucking business owned by Mortimer Maxim,

Maxim Inc., a trucking business owned by Mortimer Maxim, charged its fuel purchases to an account at Express Vehicle Services. When Maxim Inc. was not paid on several contracts, it ceased doing business and was dissolved. Mortimer Maxim continued to provide trucking services, however, as a sole proprietor. Express Vehicle Services sought to recover unpaid fuel charges from Maxim Inc., which amounted to about $35,000, from Mortimer Maxim, who argued that he was not personally liable for a corporate debt. Should the court pierce the corporate veil? Using the IRAC format, explain why or why not.
