Elmar, a farmer, contracted to sell his cabbage crop to Chris Coleslinger for $495,

Elmar, a farmer, contracted to sell his cabbage crop to Chris Coleslinger for $495, the contract being made one week before the harvest. Their contract was entirely verbal.  After the harvest Fess quickly sold the crop to Don Trump instead for $800 when Trump called and offered to pay immediately, in cash,  that day.  Mr. Coleslinger threatened to sue Elmar for breach. 

1.Could Elmar win?

2. What laws apply under these facts?  Why?

3. Is the subject of the contract land or goods? 

I'm lost need help with details.

I dont think Elmar would win because the contract wasnt signed by both parties..
