Rohit’s alternatives

please discuss the following in 3-5 double- spaced pages: (1) Rohit’s alternatives; (2) the stakeholders; (3) the ethics involved in the alternatives (moral rights and duties; justice and utilitarianism); and (4) recommended an alternative that is supported by your ethical analysis. KidSoap After joining HealthySuds in early 2016, Rohit led a product development team that created a soap, produced in small batches, that is particularly effective in preventing infection when used with children who have serious wounds. The soap has the brand name KidSoap and it is effective for three reasons: (1) it has a very aggressive combination of ingredients that work exceptionally well in preventing or defeating infection in children with wounds. In fact, it is more than 20 times more effective than any other product on the market; (2) it has a bubblegum flavor that is not threatening to children—in fact, they like using it; and (3) is chemically designed so it is not irritating, in spite of its aggressive chemical makeup. KidSoap is so effective that the American Academy of Children’s Medicine recently published a study that KidSoap prevented tens of thousands of serious injuries, hospitalizations and even deaths. They also report that the soap is exceptionally safe when used on children and it credit’s the aggressive way HealthySuds tests each small batch of KidSoap. HealthySuds continuously tests the small batches of KidSoap on animals, using techniques that are typical for medical and cosmetic animal testing. The American Academy of Children’s Medicine noted that this rigorous testing was a very important factor in its recommending KidSoap. HealthySuds is a small Portland-based company, with 280 employees, launched by University of southern Maine students who got the idea for the company in their Legal Environment of Business class. The Company has a large balloon debt payment coming up later this year and the company’s Chief Financial Officer has said that without continual and growing sales from KidSoap the company would likely fail. After the American Academy of Children’s Medicine was widely promoted in the news and on the internet, Rohit received an email from a group called People for the Humane Treatment of Animals (“PHTA”). The e-mail claims that animal testing of KidSoap is cruel and inhumane and must be stopped immediately. PHTA provided video clips that were secretly taken at the lab where the animal testing is conducted. PHTA claims the videos show cruel and inhumane treatment of the test animals and that, in any event, all animal testing is immoral. PHTA claims that unless Rohit agrees within ten days to end animal testing, it will begin a global boycott of KidSoap that will include disruptive political civil disobedience aimed at KidSoap’s point of sale, distribution and production.
