Question: Â You are the tenant whose had enough of the apartment and the landlord, with four months left on the lease at a rent of $500/month, you get all of your stuff out and abandon the property. Your Landlord immediately retakes possession of the property and attempts to mitigate losses, but after making a reasonable search for a new tenant can only find someone to assume a one-month tenancy in the final month of your original lease term at a rent of $400 for that month.
