Belonging: A Basic Need
Â
Â
Let's face it, we all want to belong to someone or some group. For this week's assignment, be sure to view the Movie Moment from the TED site by Brene Brown. Her presentation is on the topic of belonging and allowing ourselves to be intimate and vulnerable with others.Â
Chapter 12 discusses belonging, attraction, and exclusion. Chapter 13 discusses many of the painful prejudices and stereotypes that keep us apart. In your journal this week, write your reflective response (at least 200 words) to the video and the reading.Â
Do you agree or disagree that belonging is a basic need?Â
What have you learned about relationships or even about yourself in this class that might help you with your relationships in the future?
Remember to cite your sources in APA format.
