This assignment is to be completed as a multi-media presentation (PowerPoint, Prezi, Google slides, etc). The presentation should be approximately 15-20 slides (can include 1 title slide and 1 reference slide) and should contain either an image of or a way to access the actual pieces being analyzed (for example, if it is a music video, you should provide a link to the YouTube page or other site where it can be viewed. If it is a painting, please copy and paste an image of it into the presentation). Your tech-savviness is not being graded, so please be creative in whatever way is comfortable for you- though I do challenge you to challenge yourself!)

Choose two different pieces of media (a song, a tv show, a painting, sculpture, music video, poem, etc.) that focus on themes of gender, sexuality, love, intimacy, or any other topic covered in our class. Compare and contrast the two pieces. For example, the Destinyâs Child song âSay My Nameâ deals with themes of infidelity and lying. The Naughty By Nature song âO.P.P.â also focuses on these topics, but each song takes a very different standpoint. Please be sure to address: (a) What is the overall message in each piece? (b) Give some historical/sociocultural background information on the time when each piece was published. (c) How are these pieces similar in message, theme, audience, etc.? (d) How are they different? (e) How does the demographic info of the artist impact the message? This includes race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, religious affiliation, nation of origin, etc.
