This is an exercise of PPT form.

Text (15 points). You will need to search the internet for a news story of a person arrested (not convicted) for a crime in the United States in the past 2 weeks. Then enter information into a paragraph about that story. The text is a single paragraph but must contain the following five components.

  1. It begins with a link to the internet source of a news story detailing a person arrested for a crime. (e.g.http://fremonttribune.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/arrested-for-drugs-child-abuse/article_faf361bc-165f-556f-91a4-4fda4230d814.html (Links to an external site.)
  2. Next summarize the crime in 1-2 sentences (e.g. In this story a person was alleged to have …..”).
  3. Next identify the category of the criminal act (e.g. Property Crime, White Collar Crime, Violent Crime)ANDthe specific type of crime (e.g. for “Property Crime” is it larceny (theft), false pretenses, etc.).
  4. Then state whether this crime is a felony or a misdemeanor for the state that it occurred (see page 4 of the Criminal Law chapter).
  5. Finally, include an internet link that proves your statement that it was a felony or misdemeanor for the state that it occurred. (e.g.http://www.criminaldefenselawyer.com/resources/auto-theft-laws-nebraska.htm (Links to an external site.)).
  6. 2. An effective manager or attorney must be able to present ideas clearly. Your slide must follow certain design guidelines. See Sample Slides in Module 11: Content.
  • Your name is the heading. The heading must contrast in some way with the text in the paragraphs (It might be a combination of being bolded, a different font, larger in size, or a different color - see examples). It is also aligned on the left with the text and people’s exhibit 1.
  • The bottom of the paragraph must align with the bottom of the crime photo to the right, and the left side of the paragraph must align with the left side of People’s Exhibit 1. The crime photo is aligned with People’s Exhibit 3.
  • The four photos must be cropped to the same width AND height. The space between the three “people’s exhibits” should be the same. The captions for the “people’s exhibits” are aligned with each other and are centered below the exhibit to which they refer.
  • Be sure that the narration is 1½ to 2 minutes, is set to begin automatically, and that the sound icon is invisible.
