On April 20, 2010, an offshore BP drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico exploded after a blowout and sank two days later. Eleven people were killed and the massive oil spill continues to harm humanity and the environment. The coasts of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, and Florida are all being effected. Eleven workers died and many others, especially local fisherman are left without jobs.
Please research and review articles (on your own) explaining the chain of events and details of the spill and answer the following questions.
Who is ethically and legally responsible for this tragedy and why? What are the responsibilities of BP to the people affected and the environment, if any, and practically speaking, can they fulfill those obligations?
