Medical Terminology

Instructions

“Salpingo-oophorectomy." Say what?

For this second discussion forum, we remind our brains of how important medical terminology is across the board in the Healthcare industry. When the time comes for you to take your certification exam, you will need to pay special attention to the slightest change in the terminology from question to question. One letter can change that diagnoses or procedure and then, very easily and inadvertently, you can write the wrong code, which might translate into no pay.

  1. Using your coding manuals or search, lists some diagnosis or procedure terms that are commonly confused and can mixed up. Share how someone could easily prevent the mistake from happening by comparing the terms.

Make sure that your primary post is at least 150 words and your two responses to your classmates are 50 words each.
