           Should football players make more money? Why or Why not? 

 

   Football players have the lowest base salaries amongst the top two most-watched American sports, baseball, basketball. Players have a base salary of 22k-24k a month. Despite the super bowl being the most watched championship in the world, which rakes in billions each year. Football players have lower salaries.Promoter, gm, coaches, agents, and other entities all have their hand in the pot of gold. Other reasons football players are not paid as much because they're so prone to the injuries that gm doesn't want to pay out big contract to only lose in the end. That’s why rookies contracts are only for four to five years.It’s a lot of economic action that comes into play when you are talking about football.

 

 

   Why should football players continue to be a workhorse and display showmanship to a league who continues to bird fed them? Some doctors and lawyers make more money than football players. Only the most elite player like Peyton Manning and Tom Brady fill their pockets with the big dollars. The field hands the offense lineman, defensive lineman, and other less important positions only to get the crumbs that fall from the table but change is on the way. Football players plays a very risky sport. When the players get on the field, it’s likely to get hurt and never be able to play again. It’s time for players to gather up and fight for what they deserve. The National football league is getting all the money while the football players use their talents and work had to get paid less than what they deserve. After football players are finished with their career, a lot of them end up having financial issues and a lot of players end up bankrupt. It’s sad and stressful to know that players have played long and hard just to get nothing in return. A lot of players have their wife and children to think about, Have anyone thought about the families that are involved? When the zoll lockout ended, a lot of changes begin to occur especially for retired players.After zoll, the granted one billion in additional benefits for retired players. They have an opportunity to stay in the player's medical plan for life. These are just some examples of how some changes have begun to occur in some areas of the league. There's still a lot more changes that need to be made, but this is a small start that has occurred in the NFL policies and standards.

 

Even though the NFL doesn’t pay the rate that football players deserve, a lot of people wonder why should they?There only sixteen games played and most players careers are over by the time they turn the age of 30. They are washed up and enjoying life on a beach somewhere. There is also 52 man roster that a lot of people do to just give everyone a mill ticket. The league has to hire some of the most talented trainer and specialist to come in and treat players for minor and major injures free of charge. The money that league spends on maintaining these expense stadiums all theses cost have to be taken into account.Commissioner is trying to cut the cost not spend more money.They think the players have are getting their fair share of money and benefits from the National Football league.Players should be satisfied with their salary and stop complaining about this issue. The league has taken care of them even when the player has been retired. They have guaranteed jobs as sports caster and commentator. They even received respect long after they have left the NFL stage. Some people wonder how would players be so ungrateful to a league that took care of them.Should the league take some of their money back that was wasted on players who didn’t fair well in the NFL. All the time and money wasted only to get bamboozled. Johnny Manziel, for example, got bamboozled and money was given to him up front.
