advantages of using social media

Despite what I mentioned earlier in week eight brief news as the advantages of using
social media like Facebook in the workplace, but there are some limitations or
disadvantages could face employer and employees. Initially, I do not believe the
social media sites could a good way to communicate with employees. When
employees are get paid hourly, so the have to spend their working hours to do their
job. There are no reasons to allow employees using their smartphones and laptops
as a way to communicate with each other. And when workers use social media
during working hours because may affect on company's privacy. "The use of email,
social media and text messaging has led to significant issues regarding employee and
workplace privacy" (Mathis, Jackson, Valentine & Meglich, 2015).
Today Social media has huge users around the world. Social media can use to
recruiting and developing employee’s skills, using in a hiring process, and improve
company's production. “many employers have developed and disseminated
electronic communications policies, and guide executives, managers, and
employees" (Mathis, Jackson, Valintaine & Meglich, 2015). In another hand, the
social media sites could use when employees out of working hours. Some companies
are nor allowed their employees to use social media in working hours which mean
this is not employee’s right. But it is possible to employee’s smartphone in their
break and lunch. The main point employees have to focus on product firm’s resources and their secret information. “Terminating workers for openly
complaining about an employer on social media has come under scrutiny based on
recent court rulings" (Mathis, Jackson, Valentine &Meglich, 2015). In the end, there are some challenging faced employers into allowed their
employees to use Facebook or personal smartphone. And companies have to be
careful in order to protect their resources.
