FINAL exam

Hello,

 

I will be going back to grad school this October, so I thought I give your service a shot. My son has been given this assignment below as a FINAL exam. He is freaking out as the teacher isn't very helpful. I reached out to her and she responded with "he should know this by now".Which didnt answer my question of can she explain it to me so I can better guide him in his assignment. This is not AP English and I just need help to explain this to my junior. Any assistance you can provide is great

 

Assignment is based on an authors novel, collection of short stories, poetry, or essays.... Author chosen is Jonathan Maberry.

  1. How do I find an author's comment on society?
  2. How have this writer's structural, stylistic, and or linguistic choices developed his attitude?
  3. Supplement analysis with relevant research (critical essays & book reviews).

 

I have no clue what #2 means.
