APA format standardizes the style in which all reports and paper are submitted. This standard allows for ease of reading between continents and people.

The major goals of a research report prepared for publication is to inform the public of the findings of a research study in an understandable and presents the data accordingly. This accomplished through a research report. The research reports are structured papers that include several APA format structures. There are several parts such as the title, abstract, introduction, method, results, discussion, and references. The title identifies what the main topic of the study is while identifying the variables under investigation. The abstract is a brief overview of the study, including the summary of the method, procedure, results, effective sizes, and conclusions. The introduction will give the reader the rationale for the given investigation. The method tells exactly how the study was conducted. The results’ goal is to summarize the data that was collected and analysis is performed on this data. The discussion interprets and evaluates the results and relationships between results and the hypothesis of the study. Finally, the references provide a complete an accurate list of all the references that had been cited in the report (Christensen, Johnson & Turner, 2014).

APA format is a necessity when submitting an article for publication in journals because it follows the order that the research was conducted, allowing for easy understanding and consistency (Christensen, Johnson & Turner, 2014). APA  format regulates the way in which the article is presented. It acts as the standard which allows for easy reading between people and other continents (Christensen. Johnson & Turner, 2014).
