You are an Organizational Consultant who has been brought in to assist with a manufacturing company that is about to undergo an acquisition and merger. The company is headquartered in Detroit, Michigan and has two additional plants located in Denver, Colorado and Toronto, Canada. The company has a culture of collaborative decision-making and teamwork. Employee satisfaction is very good. Employee retention is good with moderate turnover.
The company that is being acquired employs 1500 people. This company is purchasing a similar company that has manufacturing plants in two locations, Houston, Texas and Nogales, Mexico. This company employs 1000 people. This company has a culture of top-down management. Employee satisfaction is fair. Employee retention is excellent with little turnover.
