  1. Search through Psych-Info and other pertinent academic databases to find five articles on the Stroop Effect.

Please note your literature search should use articles on college student populations. Emphasis on more recent studies (published last 10 years). However, your time period could go further back if you find something really interesting. Topics of relevance might be different variants of the Stroop effect (e.g., testing new stimuli, conditions, or procedures), studies on gender differences, and/or testing automaticity theory. For now, please exclude those studies on clinical populations or children, especially with ADHD.

  1. After finding your five pertinent sources on the Stroop-Effect, please write an annotated bibliography for these 5 sources. I have listed some important information on this below.

 

The bibliographic information: your bibliographic information of the source (the title, author, publisher, date, etc.) must be written in APA format (not MLA).

 

The annotations: The annotations for each source are written in paragraph form. The lengths of the annotations can vary significantly from a couple of sentences to a couple of pages. The length will depend on the purpose. 

  • Because I am asking you to write a brief summary of your sources, your annotations should be no more than 125 words per source. Consider the following information within your annotations:
  • What did the researchers test?--describe their problem statement and/or hypothesis.
  • What did the researchers do (describe main methods) to test their hypothesis?
  • What did the researchers mainly observe and conclude?
  • How do the findings from the source relate/support a Stroop Interference effect on reaction time?
