Managing children, that have experienced a divorced

Managing children, that have experienced a divorced can be a challenge for newly introduced step parents and others. Changes are not only difficult for children, but for matter any human being. It makes it more challenging, when the father of the children is awarded custody and the step mom tries to fill the “mom role”. Conflict and jealousy between new siblings, and father and mother can create a defiant attitude, especially when the child reaches their teenage years. Having the right approach and possible professional support can ease the challenges, and will be quite helpful in overcoming most obstacles.

Bruce is an 18 year old boy that went to live with his father when he was 6  years old, after his parents separated at the age of 5. Along with his father, his step mom accepted the challenge and helped raise him. They both encouraged him to accept a scholarship offer to a college in Chicago for swimming. The whole situation is a bit overwhelming to Bruce because his mom wants him to come live with her across the country due to jealousy and lack of time with him when he was younger. The situation was starting to affect Bruce, and cause him to start being defiant toward his father and stepmother. As well as being aggressive and mean toward his younger siblings. He is having mixed feelings and overall, is confused about the situation. He is an amazing child most of the time, but the pressure placed on him by his biological mom wanting to do what she didn’t do in the past is weighing on him.

My question is can you Explain the role that inductive and deductive reasoning play in the decision-making process.
