idea about a Research proposal idea

I need help with an idea about a Research proposal idea for my Research class in Psychology. I need to be able to manipulate the state of interest. The independent variable and the dependent variable. It needs to be easy enough to do in one semester, and is not an actual experiment, but should be able to be an experiment. It has to be plausible, with little threat to external/internal validity. It has to also include about 20 participants. I need help with an idea. I don't need the actual idea, but just guidance as to an example of what would be a good idea.
