The Assignment: 

For this paper you are to write a 3 page paper on cross cultural differences in  Domestic Violence

Precise organization-You should have an introduction, full body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You essay should include a thesis statement (purpose, flow of the paper). Your body paragraphs should follow the thesis, so your topic sentences should address the points listed above. 

Clear, concrete examples-Within your body paragraphs you should use specific examples (no vague generalizations). 

You should include in-text citations to support your research/information. Students are to include a minimum of two academic journal research articles as references. Academic journal research articles can be accessed through the FTCC Library site. 

You should include at least 3 references for this assignment; Wikipedia may not be used as a reference. 

The paper will need to address the following aspects of the topic:

Introduction (One paragraph) (5 points) 

Explain the practices or systems of your topic in each of the selected countries.  (At least one paragraph for each culture) (25 points) 

Compare and contrast practices or systems in at least two different countries (not including your own). (At least one paragraph) (20 points) 

Demonstrate how a culture perceives the practices of other cultures. At least one paragraph.  (10 points) 

     How might the people in each of these countries react to practices or systems in other countries? 

     Do you believe that practices or systems from one country would be accepted in the other? 

Analyze these cultural differences within the context of your own culture. (15 points) (One paragraph) 

     Discuss how your own culture would view the practices or systems in each of the countries you chose to analyze. 

     Discuss the implications of attitudes toward diversity/Explain how these cultural differences influence your own attitudes.

     How would you personally react to the practices or systems in each of these other countries?  Please use critical thinking here. 

Include a conclusion 5 points (A paragraph) 

Be sure to use your own words except for few quotes that you may feel necessary.  Make sure quotes are in quotation marks, and cited properly, both in text and on a reference/works cited page.
