counterterrorism

(451 my p) I agree with the post below the best counterterrorism is a stable state. At the same time places like Iraq and Afghanistan reaching stability can only be establish with the elimination is extreme Islamic groups. A country that is full of terrorist groups is impossible to achive peace with just talking, till terrorist groups are eliminated or control these states would not be able to flourish. 200 words supporting this statement please list references

I enjoyed reading your post however, I think there has to be more thought that has to go into a good counter terrorism policy than just a military option. An effective strategy would have to take into account the root causes of terrorism, capabilities, intentions, and our defense against attacks. A good strategy to eliminate the root cause in this situation is to bring some sort of industry or way out poverty, to make terrorism unattractive to young people. To accomplish this, the government should tailor a foreign policy with those countries governments become more a stable in order to allow foreign investors and business in to increase the quality of life in these areas. If we constantly use special operations to destroy the terrorist’s ability to hold terrain, destroying their assets, and eliminating key members is essential however, they can also destroy or damage surrounding areas unintentionally and upset the indigenous population. While it necessary to strike at times, the military needs to be more cognizant of the possible repercussions it might have before undertaking the mission
