Movie Critique

You will serve as a “memory expert” who has been called upon to critique the accuracy of how anterograde amnesia is depicted in the movie Memento (2000). This movie is available to watch for free at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlMzDxrB58g

  • Writing the movie critique: Follow the guidelines below for your critique.

• Format:

o Font: Use 12-point Times New Roman font for the entire paper.

o Margins: Use 1-inch margins on all sides for the entire paper.

o Spacing:double space the entire paper

 

• Content and length: Using the format guidelines that are identified above, the complete paper should be 2–4 pages in length, with variations due to differences in writing style. Regarding content, the critique should address how each of the memory forms below are portrayed in either Leonard or Sammy Jenkins, the two characters with anterograde amnesia. Be sure to give specific examples for each from the movie, and to indicate whether this memory portrayal is accurate based on past research and case studies dealing with: 

o Episodic memory

o Semantic memory

o Perceptual motor skills

o Conditioning

 

• Writing style: The critique must be organized with good topic sentences and transitions,and must not include any spelling or grammar errors.
