Study the problem scenarios below. Using the steps involved in problem-solving that were discussed in the chapter, identify which problem-solving method best fits each scenario (subgoaling, algorithm, heuristics, decision-making). 

1. Betty is in the baking aisle at the grocery store. She is running a little late and needs to quickly choose a cake mix. 

2. Betty is ready to make the cake. In order to get the best results, she follows the directions on the box, step-by-step.

3. Jenny found out through a friend that her boyfriend has been cheating on her with another woman. She is very distraught and is not sure what to do about the situation.

4. Kyle has a 20-page paper due in six weeks and he has not yet started to work on the paper. He is feeling very overwhelmed. He knows he should get started soon, but is not sure where to begin.

5. Jeremy wants to learn to build computers. He’s never done this before, so he needs to make sure he does everything correctly so he has a working computer when he’s finished.
