Criminal justice assignment # 6

Ex-Offender Helps Build Careers by Giving Felons Work Copy and paste link to read article: http://stateimpact.npr.org/oklahoma/2012/07/12/ex-offender-helps-build-careers-by-giving-felons-work/ Read the article from above and determine if Mr. Hunt is offering a much needed service. Mr. Hunt is essentially paying it forward based on his previous experiences. How difficult is it for an offender to obtain employment once they have a felony conviction on their record? If more ex-offenders participated in such an endeavor, would it change our recidivism rates? Why or why not? Many business owners feel that by giving jobs to those who have been convicted, you are taking them away from law abiding citizens? Is there truth in that statement? Should there be companies that are required to hire ex-cons? What are the benefits to employers who provide jobs for felons?
