This week we reviewed motivation, emotions and the psychology of happiness. In addition, we reviewed gender and human sexual behavior. As we found in the readings this week, we are motivated by many different factors. In the forum discussion, we reviewed dreams. Freud believed that dreams were the manifestation of our unconscious desires. We often are required to edit our emotions and interactions with people in order to preserve relationships and/or to avoid heated conflicts. Once we rest, then the feelings evoked by editing ourselves may find a way into our dreams. I believe it is important to examine the dreams and especially the emotions evoked by them in order to better understand our subconscious emotions.
Question: Do you agree with Freud’s view that every action or thought is motivated by our unconscious at some level?
