you are being asked to design your own utopian society using Skinner’s principles of operant conditioning. In at least 2 ½ pages (1” margins all around, 12-point Times New Roman Font, APA format, with a title page and a reference page), outline the basic laws of your society, how authority is to be structured, how human relationships work (friendships, romance, and family), the basics of the economic structure, and the criminal justice system. Be sure to be explicit about which behavioral principles are being employed, and where. Be explicit about which methods you will be using to address which of the ills of modern society. Discuss whether your society will employ punishment or not, and if it will, then be sure to address Skinner’s opposition to punishment by designing your punishment system to accommodate his criticisms of it.
Several of Skinner’s works are readily available through our own Saint Leo library database. Several other sources are also available at the following link: http://www.bfskinner.org/archives/. Do not use Wikipedia as a source.
