air Pollution Epidemiology

This is about air Pollution Epidemiology

Question:

There are limited resources available for protecting susceptible sub-populations from the effects of air pollution. Where have the policy makers fallen short?

Write a one and half paged referenced paper.

Note:

Everywhere is not an acceptable answer.

Pleases be specific as to the population and why?

Some useful help/Assistance:

Humans are the primary focus of all air-pollution regulatory efforts. So they are the main population, thus, this is not about humans. it is about other sub-populations that any chosen air pollutant or in general air pollutants can affect- apart from man.

There is so much needed before policymakers can make the necessary laws to protect humans from the adverse effects of air pollutants. Theses includes- carrying out laboratory tests (invitro experiments, experiments on animals and volunteer humans), epidemiological surveys and many more before they can detect the toxicity level of an air pollutant. It is after this they can now set standards that must be maintained so that toxicity to such pollutant will be prevented on human populations. If these much resources goes into taking care of humans as the primary focus of air-pollution regulation, what do you think the law makers can do or where do you think they have fallen short by not capable of protecting other sub-populations. This is what the question is all about.
