Hi, I need some reflection paper for my culture psychology class!
The subject about:
Culture is something we all participate in. We have spent a lot of time looking at how culture's differ in the importance they place on certain values, behaviors, or norms. Culture becomes the specific ways in which we learn norms and cross-culture comparison allows us to see how norms differ for the same given behavior or experience. (1) Give an example of a person's behavior that you may misunderstand, misrepresent, due to a cultural mismatch, a stereotyped judgement you made, or an assumption that you can now see was based on your own cultural lens. It is easy to assume we all mean the same things but we may be actually have different cultural perspectives. (2) Why do you think cultures differ in what they teach their members to value, how to behave, or what norms to pass on? (3) How do you think this class has helped you to maybe prevent future cultural misunderstandings, stereotype judgements, or your own behaviors?
