please explain this for me

In a hypothetical population of tree swallows, 18 individuals are homozygous for the c4 allele, 22 individuals are heterozygous for the allele, 10 individuals lack the allele. what is the frequency of the c4 allele?

total is 50.

18/50= 0.36

22/100 = 0.22

The answer is 0.58 but what I am confusing is, it is asking frequency for c4 allele which is only for 18 individuals which should be only .36 instead of adding the frequency of 10 individuals. please explain this for me.
