experiment answers questions

I need someone double check my introduction for my bio lab report, I'm not sure that i indicated the hypothesis right. or overall introduction is right or not?

Introduction

Difference between individuals in a population is called variation which results of genes and the environment. Each species has a specific set of genes, and different alleles in the gene causes differences in characteristics of that species such as; eye and hair color. Basically, all alleles within a population are called gene pool. Temperature, humidity, soil condition, availability of food, competition, predation, time, maternal effects, and etc. are causes of environmental variation. The outcome of differences in alleles and environment called phenotype.

In this experiment, we examined the leaf sizes that have same DNA, from low light and high light environment. The leaves may have different phenotypes that response to variation in environmental conditions such as sunlight. So differences between leaves sizes would be due to environmental causes.

By this experiment we are looking for the answers of questions below:

·     Does the environmental causes affect the phenotype of a leaf?

·     Does the amount of light exposure cause differences in leaves sizes?

·     What feature(s) in the leaves will response that causes differences in the sizes?

Our hypothesis in this experiment is that, Leaves under the sun are bigger. Because the larger leaf have a larger area for absorbing the sunlight energy for photosynthesIMG_9174.JPG
