Your response raises a good point!  You stated that you are one way at first, then when you are comfortable, you are different.  Ponder this...if any of us were to take these inventories on multiple days, would we continue to get the same results (reliability)? Your text asserts that traits "account for the consistency and coherence of human behavior (Allport, 1937)." Would you agree? How much does our mood or situational factors influence our personality? Would it matter if I took the test after I received a promotion at work versus leaving a funeral? Walter Mischel (1973) suggests that "people act in consistent ways across different situations, reflecting an underlying consistency of personality traits, is a myth. Who would you agree with? Why or Why not?
