pre-surgery weight loss

The topic is pre-surgery weight loss patients Betty, Roberta, Amelia, Mike and Mrs.Lola has been inspected. The participants are mainly overweight and mainly sharing their experiences regarding various incidences that happened in their live. These incidences have reflected upon their intention towards having a weight loss surgery. Their transcripts have been analysed into four themes: Living with undesirable body, unwanted emotional state, positive feelings of weight loss surgery and restricted intake of meal. Below are some quotes from each theme that need to be discussed including explanations of why we think they are experiencing it this way. Each quote need to be discussed separately and has to be up to 60 words

Unwanted emotional state:

Amelia stated “I just wanna be able to be healthier”

Mike stated “the heaviest I’ve ever been.”

Living with undesirable body:

Betty stated “I haven’t been able to do in years,”

Mrs. Lora claimed that “I could fit into nicer clothes and I could go out with confidence.”

Positive feelings of weight loss surgery:

Betty: I’m looking forward to having a new body, a new life

Amelia: I’m really really excited about that

Roberta: future videos will help someone else

Restricted intake of meal:

Mike: don’t eat massive amounts of it just the wrong stuff, bread pastries

Betty: being able to escape from the addiction of food

The conclusion should be of 20 words where you only link it to a broader psychological concept such as stigma and mention a few practical implications
