DNA modification resulting from a number of influences can ultimately lead to genetic mutations. Even though mutations that lead to actual damage to a cell are rare, there are a number of diseases associated with mutations, such as cancer.
Modifications during cellular reproduction can potentially lead to genetic mutations and potentially overgrowth of cells which leads to cancer. Describe two potential causes of genetic mutations and discuss whether these mutations are preventable. In the virtual lab experiment (Cell Reproduction (Links to an external site.)
