help improve The United States environment

Please revise.

As stated in the lecture the Clean Air Act of 1970 has “established strict air quality standards, set limits on several major pollutants, and mandated reduction of automobile and factory emissions”(Schneider). My classmates and I can agree that without the Clean Air Act, many individuals could easily get sick. We can also agree on the fact that breathing in pollutant air  can lead to health complications for the public. Pollution can be very dangerous for the environment. The Clean Air Act of 1970 has helped the public understand why pollutant air can be extremely dangerous for the public's health and environment.

My classmates and I agreed that the Safe Drinking Water Act of 1974 has helped improve the U.S. environment. Without clean water, this can cause the public to get sick very easily. Water is an essential for every individual, including the environment and animals. The Safe Drinking Water Act of 1974 has “set standards for local water systems and mandated that states enforce the standards”. My classmates and I can agree that it is important that the water systems are clean and sanitized properly so individuals do not get ill. Additionally, without clean water, the environment can suffer tremendously.

A few students mentioned that waste disposal is one of the federal interventions that has had the most impact on improving the United States environment. One student mentioned that “improper waste disposal can affect all three water, air and food in a negative way making it unsafe the public and damaging the environment”. Another student mentioned that “it is overwhelming to learn that Americans produce approximately 5 pounds of waste per person each day, without construction, automobile or industrial waste included”.

After reviewing my classmate’s posts, it seemed that everyone can agree that all of these federal interventions have helped improve The United States environment. All of these federal interventions are very critical in order to keep the environment and public safe and healthy.
