Consider the meaning and implications of the above quote by Piaget. Keeping this in mind:

  1. Discuss the value of a teacher’s/counselor's understanding of cognitive development when working with children.
  2. Explain how an understanding of the stages of a child’s or adolescence cognitive development influences teaching strategies, content and teacher/student interaction. Provide at least two examples.

  3. Compare and contrast: The concepts of Piaget’s theory and those of Vygotsky in your own classroom or mental health organization. Explain which theory you would most likely apply in your classroom or mental health organization.
