VCSA Ltd advertises in a national newspaper and commercial television as follows:

'Ample Notebook Computers - $700

This weekend only. Whilst stocks last'

The company knew it had only 10 of the advertised computers in stock. Explain if there is an infringement of the ACL and specify particular sections that may be infringed.

Above this is the my presentation question.

 

I thought this advertising is the bait advertising. And there was an infringement of ACL laws specify section 18 and 35.

Because the company promised its customers that stock lasts while the offer is only for the weekend. But, in real the stock of the product was only 10 stocks in store.

Section 18 of ACL which prohibits any corporation from engaging in deceptive or misleading conduct. Moreover, sections 35 of ACL which prohibits companies from advertising products which believe to be unavailable or only available in limited quantities with the hope that it will purchase more product.

 

This explanation is right and can you give more details and I asked the other people and he said that he cannot declare VCSA Ltd is infringement. Why is it?
