class database file for helping problems

this is for my psy225 homework. I am trying to figure out these problems but it's hard to understand.
Please help me asap! there is class database file for helping problems. Thanks!
the problems are..

1) My hypothesis: I predict that people in this class were happier on the first day of class (as indicated by Column L) than they were after the first exam (as indicated by Column AG). Is this hypothesis correct (assume an alpha level of .05 and a two-tailed test; use the post-test sample size and the pretest standard deviation to calculate the standard error)? Explain your answer and show your work.

2) Using the Class Database, come up with a workable hypothesis that compares two groups on a single measure.
