Bullying.

Janet Musa Prof. English 1302 10/16/17 Bullying. Bullying is a major issue people face in the society today. This occurs in various areas of life such as the workplaces and school. In every bullying scenario, one is either a victim or a perpetrator. Whether a person observes a bullying situation or is involved in one, intervention must be found or the situation will escalate. These interventions can be simple such as removing the perpetrator or the victim from a situation, but efforts must be made to stop intolerance and misbehavior in the world. In any situation, bullying must be identified and the problem resolved by educating, dialogue and observing patterns of behavior. Work place bullying can be very tricky. It is strenuous to figure out an ongoing bullying situation at work, it is also difficult to separate strong management and bullying. Constructive and objective feedback should not be seen as an act of bullying but rather be considered an assistance to an employee. However, the expression of a bully at work can be subtle or obvious depending on the circumstance. Identifying a bully or a victim is difficult but can be made easy through observing patterns of behavior. Examples of workplace bullying are rumors, gossips, threats, abuse but not limited to this. These negative effects on the victims can affect their self- esteem which can lead to absenteeism, low morale at work, low self-esteem, shock and stress. Solutions to work place bullying can come with recognizing the situation and responding accordingly through dialogue. In the work place dialogue can be made easy through the human resources department, leading to thorough investigation of both parties involved.

Last Name 2 A bullying situation can be verbal or physical which is common among school children. Verbal bullying is considered the most dangerous, because no one will see any scar on the student; hence the inability to predict that the student has been bullied. These scars come with obvious negative effect on students who are victims. For example, commonly seen are depression, anxiety, poor appetite, sadness but not limited to this. The danger here is that the affected individual will be left in fear and anxiety for the rest of his or her life. In a situation of verbal bullying, solutions can come from educating students to know that if they find themselves in a situation of being a bystander, they can help by stepping up and becoming an up-stander in order to foster safety for the victim. It is very important to educate the students to respond to a perpetrator whenever they are involved in a bullying situation, regardless of having a bystander around. Although people view bullying as violence or conflict between two people, it is not usually so. Bullying usually happens as a result of the perpetrator’s life. For example, when bullies feel bad about a situation at home, they look for someone they can bully in order to help them to feel better. It is obvious that bullying comes with a mark, and such mark do not just vanish in the air, rather it comes up as unmistakable evidence of an ongoing situation. In order to resolve a bullying situation, it is important to observe the perpetrator’s habits. Observing the habits gives one a clear understanding of the direction of the abuse and helps trace the source as well as helping the victim, too. Perpetrators are identified easily due to the negative qualities they possess. In other to bring solutions to bullying problems in the society people must learn to stop discrimination. Although it happens in all walks of life, one must also be sensitive so that the perpetrators can be identified and a quick solution to the problem can be found. The hurt an individual feels after
