here's instructor's comments:

this is a comprehensive discussion of the war, but you do not address the parameters of the assignment or reflect on course concepts and themes. Although you use a narrative strategy very well--you tell a good story in chronological order--there is no thesis and no "justification" for why you're telling this story. The purpose is not clear, and although your ideas demonstrate a good knowledge of the war, you do not address the assignment. I've attached the effective writing rubric here. Please consult the folder on the capstoneE project for help. remember, this paper needs to be about " on a particular issue relative to war and representation." You discuss war, but nothing about representation....
