Final Report Directions Your Final Report will be a business proposal and must contain at least one reference from Galileo. The final page will be your Works Cited page, and the citation must be set up in MLA format. Also, within your report, you must have a parenthetical reference to your source beside any information—sentence, phrase, date, statistic, etc.—that you have found in the source. The font should be Times New Roman 12. The report should be set up in MLA format: double spaced, proper header in the upper left-hand corner of the page (student’s name, instructor’s name, course name, and date), and page numbering set up in the upper right-hand corner of the page with the student’s last name. The report should be divided into three sections: 1) Introduction paragraph that sets up your dream business goal. Include the type of business and why you would like to own this type of business. You may mention as well that you see a need in your community for your business. 2) Body paragraph(s) that provides specific information about the business. This section can include more than one paragraph, if necessary. Consider the following: a) Projected location of the business and potential building to buy or build. b) Projected clientele base. c) Certain costs that may be involved, such as rent, supplies, personnel. d) Specific information about personnel. How many? Type of personality that you seek? Number of hours employees will work? e) Hours that your business will be open. f) Financial source? Feel free to fictionalize this information, such as the fact that you have inherited X amount of dollars. (The sky’s the limit in this dream.) Your business’s mission statement. g) Services that will be provided and possible products that will be offered or sold. 3) Concluding paragraph that summarizes your business dreams and the ways that you hope that your business will have a positive impact on your community and a positive impact on your life. The Module 7 Supplemental Material folder includes a sample plan that you can use as a guide; you do not have to include a Table of Contents section or the marketing and financial details often required in real business proposal. However, remember that your research source will help you provide some of the details that you would, otherwise, not know. Also, all information should be written in complete sentences. Finally, you CANNOT copy a report from the Internet, or SafeAssign/TurnItIn will catch the plagiarism, and you may not use an online template. Most importantly, have fun with this report!
