Belief in Paranormal Events
For today’s discussion I’m choosing Belief in Paranormal Events topic. Although until taking the “Belief in Paranormal Events” survey, I knew that I don’t believe anything, which is not visible and tangible, which is not normal and unexplainable. Nevertheless, it is quite interesting phenomenon, and I decided to make a close look to it. My score is 1.6, which is low belief in paranormal events, although there are some statements that to some extent I believe. For example, “I often dream about things before they happen”. I don’t know how to explain this, but it is sometimes happening to me, and the dreams can be either good or bad. There is another interesting statement, that happening to me quite often. “I am sometimes quite sure that I have visited a place or been in the same situation before”. Again unexplainable for me. “I think that the power of prayer can help cure people”. I agree with this statement, because I believe in God. Although I noted above that I don’t believe invisible and intangible things, I’m sure with all the great faith, that God exist, and everything in this life happening with the will of God, and nothing randomly happens. Somehow I agree with this statement. “Sometimes I think I cause an event to happen just because I think about it too much”. I always advice my friends and close people-think positively about anything you want to happen in your life, and it will unconditionally happen. Another statement that considering is right. “I have better luck on days when I’m feeling confident”. I think this is related to one’s inner energy, how you spread your energy, either negative or positive, it will return to you.
Rest of the survey is unreal for me. Even a second I can not think that superstitions, such as black cat, Friday the 13th, position of the stars, wearing copper, step on the cracks, witches, rabbit’s foot or breaking mirror, can cause bed lack or prevent them. And about evil spirits, devils and curse I strongly disagree with their existence, because for me only God exists. Even if some evil forces exist, their existence doesn’t make any sense for me.
I had my husband take the survey, he got the same score as me. I’m glad that he doesn’t have belief in certain things.
