Discussion: Algorithms Need Managers, Too

Question description

Today, leaders must rely on various technology sources for the analysis of big data to make intelligent decisions. In fact, data provided by customers, vendors, employees, and consultants are means for making decisions. Having the correct infrastructure and software to assimilate the data in the proper format is critical. As an existing and/or future leader, understanding the algorithms that provide data for your analysis and decision making is essential.

To prepare for this Discussion, refer to the article titled “Algorithms Need Managers, Too” and other scholarly resources of your choosing.

BY DAY 3

Post your evaluation of the use of algorithms for data analysis. In your evaluation, answer the following questions:

  • What are the advantages and disadvantages of using algorithms for data analysis?
  • What things should a leader consider prior to the selection of an algorithm tool?
  • Thinking about a website with which you are familiar, what two things might you want an algorithm to produce for analysis and why?

Be sure to support your work with a minimum of two specific citations from this week’s Learning Resources and one or more additional scholarly sources.
