You're thinking about getting LASIK surgery done since you're really tired of wearing contacts, but you were surprised to learn about the consequences of the surgery. You decide to do some research.
Question
To be able to see clearly, the lens and the cornea have to bend light in order to focus and look picture in the retina. The change in the size of the eyeball may lead to error of refraction. It can be corrected by LASIK that cuts and removes the outer layer of the cornea and slides the center back on with a protective temporary shield. This procedure is done in 15 minutes requiring only a few drops of anesthetic on the eye.
Based upon your research, would you choose to have a LASIK surgery if you wore contacts or glasses?
