Introduction WhatsApp is the latest stage technology founded in the heart of the Silicon Valley. WhatsApp uses the XMPP server which gives the better characteristics of open source. WhatsApp uses the Erlang language that is made for writing scalable applications that are made to withstand errors. Erlang utilizes the abstraction called the actor model for their concurrency. The easy execution of WhatsApp could be every user and device is presented like an actor. WhatsApp really use the XMPP protocol rather than vastly superior protocol. WhatsApp messenger is the cross platform immediate messaging application that permits iPhone, blackberry, android and the audio messages for free. Technically, WhatsApp uses the customized version of the open standard Extensible messaging and presence protocol.  WhatsApp server is almost totally executed in Erlang.  The systems of servers that do the backend message routing are done in the Erlang.  The large accomplishment is that the numerous users are controlled with the actually small server footprint. The team agreement is that it is highly due to Erlang.  WhatsApp server has begun from ejabberd  Ejabbered is the popular open source jabber server written in Erlang.  Really selection due to its open had large reviews by the developers, simply start and the promise of the long term suitability of Erlang for the great interaction system.  The next some years were spent re-writing and altering the some parts of ejabberes involving the switching from XMPP to inside developed protocol, rearrangement the code base and redesign the some of the basic elements and creating the lots of significant alterations to Erlang VM to optimize the performance of the server.
