to design 3D graphics, animation, video

Hello everyone, I need you help. Thank you for your time.

Pixel Dynamics, Inc. Imogene Maynard, the owner of Pixel Dynamics, and her staff use resource-intensive applications to design 3D graphics, animation, video, and online presentations for the Web sites of the company’s business clients. She asks you to examine the feasibility of upgrading the company’s computers from Windows Vista Business to Windows 7 Professional. The new computers must support Windows Aero to more efficiently and effectively meet the needs of their clients and to attract new clients. She asks you to prepare a report that summarizes your analysis and evaluation of upgrading the company’s computers. As a starting point for analyzing the acquisition of new Windows 7 computer systems for Pixel Dynamics, Imogene recommends you evaluate your computer system first. As you complete each step in this case problem, record your answers to questions so that you can submit them to your instructor. Use a word-processing application such as Microsoft Word or the WordPad accessory to prepare your answers to these questions. Finish the following steps:

i. What are the primary ways in which you use your computer?

ii. Locate and list the Windows Experience Index base score and the Processor, Memory (RAM), Graphics, Gaming graphics, and Primary hard disk subscores for your computer.

iii. Use the “What do these numbers mean?” link in the Performance Information and Tools window to open Windows Help and Support and locate information on the Windows Experience Index. What is the base score for running Windows Aero? What base score should a computer have to support multitasking? What base score supports the use of high-end 3D graphics, animation, and video applications at Pixel Dynamics? What does the Windows Experience Index base score imply for the Processor, Memory (RAM), Graphics, Gaming graphics, and Primary hard disk subscores? Examine the Help information on a computer’s subscores. What types of subscores support the types of computer tasks required of employees at Pixel Dynamics?

iv. Using your computer’s base score, rate your own computer’s performance based on the information covered in this tutorial and in Windows Help and Support. Identify the current range used for the Windows Experience Index base score and subscores.

v. Examine the Windows Experience Index subscores, and identify the component that limits the performance of your computer. How do these subscores affect the performance of your computer?

vi. Identify and list ways in which you can improve the performance of your computer by upgrading its hardware.

vii. In what other ways might you use the Windows Experience Index base score and subscores?

viii. Close Windows Help and Support, and then close the Performance Information and Tools window.
