As a future policy maker in the field of criminal justice, criminology, and law, are sex offender registries necessary after an offender is released from prison? Do such registries have a positive, a negative, or no impact on re-entry efforts? Should we utilize felon registries (e.g. if you are convicted of any felony, you have to register as a convicted felon)? Should we have DUI registries (e.g. if you are convicted of a DUI, you have to register as a DUI offender)? Why are sex offenders singled out for registries? Explain.( long drawn out answer form)
