The chief of police appointed you to head up a community-policing initiative to develop better relations and collaboration with an African-American community in your city.

What steps would you take to meet this end?  Be detailed and explain your reasoning for taking each step.

 

Keep in mind that any effective strategy will be multi-faceted and should focus on each of the following areas:

1.       Organizational transformation - What changes will the police department undergo to be more effective at protecting and serving this community?
