Take notes during the program and use those notes to make a complete Narrative report of the investigation (Offense Report attached). If there are major investigative elements missing from the program, discuss that after the conclusion of the report (Supplemental Report attached). The Object of this exercise is to enable you (the student) to recognize all the important elements of a report. Knowing when those elements are missing can be just as important as knowing what is actually recorded on the report. I should be able to read your Narrative and understand what happened at the crime scene and how the initial investigation went.Â
