How does one's definition of terrorism result from one's background?

How does one's definition of terrorism result from one's background? Would your ideology, religion, or country of origin help form what you believe terrorism to be? For example, if you were from Northern Ireland, would you consider the work of the IRA to be terrorism? Would you consider the LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) to be a terrorist group if you were a native Tamil of Sri Lanka? After a Internet search and then analyze the saying: "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter."
