Which of these areas are most important? Why? How would you alter the curriculum to ensure that officers received adequate training in the most important areas? Is this training adequate to train an officer to do his or her job? Why or why not? What is missing, if anything?

This presents a breakdown of the basic training curriculum for California police officers. This curriculum, developed by the California Police Officer Standards Training Commission, attempts to provide officers with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the job. The curriculum contains a number of subject areas and comprehensively addresses the job of police officer.
